Kroger Savings!

I have to admit, I have NOT been a fan of Kroger for some time now. Maybe it was just the one by my house which is set up so rediculous it's not easy to shop there, but I have gone in recently a few times to get deals, and I admit...there are good deals to be had. I think I am converting! I just wish mine wasn't set up so rediculous, overall I will stick with Lowes Foods, but will stop there to search for deals once a week or every so often! The items pictured cost me $16.68 and several were free items and many a really great steal.
Some deals worth mentioning:
FREEBIES: Toilet paper (used .50/1 coupons that doubled, got all 5 packages free!), Diet Dr. Pepper was free (used a freebie coupon I signed up for by mail).
Manager Specials: I got 3 packages of turkey meat for $1.29 each on manager special, and Perdue Shortcuts pre cut chicken breast strips were on manager special for 1.99 and I had 2 coupons for 1/1...so got those for .99 cents each (down from 3.99!).
Apples and pears were 10lbs/$10, baguette on sale for 1.00 and milk for $1.50! I also got 4 yogurts @.55 each and used 1.00/4 coupon so they ended up being .30 a piece.
*A couple weeks ago I got lots of good meat on manager special sale but I think I was too late this week. I need to scope those deals Saturday night and Sunday! I think I am becoming a regular now!!

Harris Teeter Triple Coupons Round 2

I couldn't believe it when heard that Harris Teeter was doing triple coupons once again, so soon to the last time! I had not been stocking up on several papers each week so my coupon stack is decent, but not like the last time! I did manage to snag some deals, but I suspect that not all the cheese coupons rang up tripled so I will be going back to check for that. But overall, some good deals, some freebies, and I have plans to go back for more!
Some things worth mentioning:
Kraft 2% shredded cheese packages were $0.23 a package

Great Kroger Run!

Kroger last week was doing their mega sale where you buy 10 participating products and you get $5 off at the register. Pairing with coupons, this became a really great deal. Additionally, I had coupons for 8 free packages of toilet paper and meat (chicken breasts, drumsticks, and red meat steak roast) on manager special for less than 50% selling price.
I got all of the above for just over $26!
*Some good deals to note include the free toilet paper, 6 packages of kraft shredded cheese for $0.75 each, a large thing of coffeemate creamer for about 50 cents, reduced price meat, and a money maker on diced tomatoes. I am now loving Kroger deals!

Chocolate Cranberry Rice Crispy Treats

This weekend I threw together a new recipe for rice crispy treats. They are already a low fat snack, and I wanted to add some extra stuff to them so I chopped up dried cranberries and some chocolate pieces. The results were a yummy, but fairly healthy, treat for all!

The Ingredients:
6 cups of rice crispies
1 package (10.5 oz) of marshmallows
1/4 cup chocolate chips, chopped
1/3 cup chopped dried cranberries

The Directions:
In a microwave safe bowl heat marshmallows until soft and stir in 6 cups of rice crispies. Add the cranberries and chocolate and stir then stick into a greased pan, can use any size depending on the thickness you prefer. Enjoy!

Bank Deals are easy money!

QQflyboy and I opened 2 Sharebuilder accounts using the code "INVEST50" to receive $50 when I invested $5 (I believe this offer is now expired.). I am happy to say that the $50 posted this week in each account. That means that we made $100! It only took me about 20 minutes to open the 2 accounts.
In addition, I opened 2 Ameritrade savings accounts today. As long as I auto-deposit $100 in each for 12 consecutive we will get $100 deposited in both accounts in a year. (I'm excited...another easy $200 and a good return on my my savings.)

The Ameritrade bank deal is available until the end of the year. Check out more details at http://www.saveyourself.com/aboutplan/page1.html or http://www.moneysavingmethods.blogspot.com/.

We will be able to deposit an extra $300 in our savings account and it is so simple!
